Teancum

Im reading in the late chapters of Alma right now.  And am in my most favorite part of the Book of Mormon.  Teancum, Captain Moroni, the Stripling warriors.  Some of the most amazing people I have ever had the opportunity to read about.

In fact, I love their stories so much that I want my boys to be influenced by their example.  For christmas this year, I am redecorating the boys room in an army theme.  Some of the wall decorations will include verses from the scriptures about the Army of Helaman. So our Army theme will be Army of Helaman/stripping warriors.   Tucker (my oldest) was actually named after Teancum.  (His middle name is Teancum) And if we were to have another boy, I would fight hard for the name Aaron Moroni.  (I know awesome name, eh? I am not planning on having more kids so if you fall in love with it please use it!)

Teancum has long been my hero.  His men were better trained then the whole of the lamanite army.  He was able to sneak into the lamanite camp and using his javalin, was able to take out their leader Amalikiah with out waking anyone up.  And rather than celebrating this awesome feat, he prepares his men for a battle which he knows will ensue.  What strength and dedication.  He is amazing.  One day, I would love to meet him.  I know it wont be in this life but it is something that I look forward to.

And then there is Moroni.  In his abridgement of the Book of Mormon, Mormon says if every man were like unto Moroni, the very powers of Hell would be shaken.  What a powerful thought.  I want my boys to shake the powers of hell.  I want them to be like unto Moroni.  (Shoot I want my daughter, my husband and I to be like unto him also.)

If you were to ask me who my favorite people were, I would probably say my kids and husband... of course they are closely followed by Teancum, Moroni, and the stripping warriors.

About Me

I recently discovered the importance of using your email account that is hooked to your blog.  I went to post a funny little thing my son said and instead received the message, "This blog does not exist."

HEARTBREAK!

On the positive side, I have all the pictures still saved.  I just don't have the stories anymore.

Of course, that is of little relevance because I was thinking of revamping my blog, I just would have printed it first!!

A little bit about me and the purpose of my blog.
My name is Nicole.  I am the mother of three wonderful children, 'Tucker' 'Josephine' ('jo for short) and 'Tubesock'.  We can thank my dad for those fantastic nicknames!  I am a stay at home mom which means I am a chef, chauffeur, referee, judge, teacher, friend, confidant, maid, nurse, seamstress, judge, and executioner.  Im sure there are other roles, but you get the idea.

I have a wonderful husband.  He is hardworking, supportive, diligent, faithful, and good looking to boot!  Im not sure how I got so lucky, but I thank my heavenly father for him!

I am 28 years old.  I am human.  That means I make mistakes.

I love to cook, sew, read, sleep, craft, eat, play piano, sing, draw, learn... I like to do a lot!

This blog is something new for me.  I plan on this being a documentary of my life.  I want a record of what things I struggle with.  I want a record of things I have tried.  I want to share ideas I have that help my family.  I want people to know what my life is like! Most importantly, I want to document my journey on the straight and narrow path the Lord has put in front of me.
